I shot these in my Ruger New model Blackhawk 45LC 5.5" Brl. 8.5 gr of Unique / CCI300 seemed to be the sweet spot, had a AV 995fps SD 14 , 2.25" group at 25 yds, 4 shots where in an inch. 8 gr unique 953av, 15 sd 3" grp at 25yds. 9 unique was 1023av, 10 sd 2.5" grp 25yds. recoil was getting up there. these are safe in my gun, your milage may vary.

Bought these bullets for occasional hunting with a tier 3 load of 19gr. 2400 for around 1100fps. in my Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt Very light leading at the forcing cone and very accurate out to 45yds. iron sights. This 270gr Keith bullet will exit every critter I've shot with it including two large ferral hogs end to end. It seems perfect velocity coupled with that bullet weight and design is like Thors Hammer crushing bone and flesh. One shot kills everything I've fired it at. It's a great bullet and the Keith design tears a big hole with a 15 Bhn. Plenty hard. That's the bottom end of tier 3 loads for .45Colt using 2400 and this bullet but it sure performs and it doesn't beat me to death either. It's a winning combination for sure. If I was concerned with bear defense I think I would opt for heavier and wider meplate just for more area to pound on but for meat hunting this bullet performs very well. Would like to try it in a rifle to get further accuracy and range performance. Winner!
